长岛Jones Beach是美国东岸最受欢迎的公共海滩，每年有六百万人造访，一年一度的Bethpage Air Show更让Jones Beach声名远播。Jones Beach位于Jones Beach州立公园内，整个公园以海滩为主体，长10.5公里。当年这个岛高出海平面不到一米，为了建造公园，在海湾内挖了大量的沙子堆积在岛上，为了固沙，又种植了大量的草根植物，公园一九二九年四月向公众开放，想到我们中国在那个年代依旧血雨腥风，更加感叹老美的能耐。
昨天下午四点多我们驱车来到这里，太阳依旧生猛生猛的，只是海风也生猛生猛的。潘哥是第一次到这里，立即被眼前的空旷所吸引，我虽然已经来过几十次，但每次来一样都有一种亲切和新鲜感，曾在大洋航行的我，对海始终抱有莫名的眷恋，琼斯海滩面向大西洋，站在沙滩边上，对着深蓝的海水，有一种回家的感觉。。。
因为还没有到海滩向公众开放的日期，偌大的海滩只有少数几个游客，显得异常空旷。为了防止海风把沙子吹走，海滩上设置了一排排的篱笆用来固沙，沙滩上还摆放了一排排的垃圾桶，那是为了国殇日的飞行表演做准备。（The Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach has become one of the largest events on Long Island and welcomes upwards of 400,000 spectators each year. This year’s show takes place May 28th and 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the United States Blue Angels returning for their 7th year as headliners. Two other jet teams, the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds and the Breitling Jet Team of France, and a number of other world-class military and civilian performers such as the F-35 Lightning II, Sean D. Tucker, John Klatt Airshows, and more take to the skies in what is sure to be our most exciting show to date!）
